History of the Jefferson House

The Jefferson House was built in the 1880s by the family of Francis Young. Francis was diagnosed with a lung ailment and the doctors told her family that she needed to live in the healing ozone belt, so they found a spot in Covington and built one the first Acadian style houses in the area.

Francis was considered too sickly to live long, but her family wanted to give her a chance at recovery. Well, recover she did. Francis lived into her 80s, probably outliving most of her relatives. However, some startling issues about Francis emerged when she died.
